Third win in a row for Nino Khurtsidze and Mika Yeravan. The armenian
Team of Maia Chiburdanidse gets a narrow victory against Chess Club
Podgorica and has now beaten numbers 1, 3 and 4 of the starting rank
list. Nino Khurtsidze wins a decisive game and scores 3 points from 3
games.
A direct duel of the russians favorits brings a 3,5:0,5 for
Krasnoturinsk against Cheliabinsk. Only Stefanova draws her game on
board one against Kovalevskaya. Petersburg, number 3 of starting list,
loses 1:3 against Sakartvelo from Georgia. This is a big disappointment
for Cmilyte and her team, because the chance to win title has gone with
this second loss. Saratova keeps this chance with a second win against
Kristallens Chess Club. Pogonina, Paehtz, Komiagina and Sharevich score
3,5:0,5.
Men
Topfavorit Ural Sverdlovskaya reaches a 3:3 only against Bank King
(ARM). Svidler, Shirov and Grischuk draw their games against Asrian,
Lputian and Vaganjan. A victory from Malakhov is compensated by the
number 6 of Bank King, Tigran Petrosian. However. An advantage of 100
Elo more on each board wasn´t enough to win.
An narrow victory gets Elara Cheboksary (RUS). Werder Bremen (GER) is
beaten with 3,5:2,5. Wins of Mamedyarov and Navara are decisive, because
the only win for Bremen gets Nyback against Bareev. Of course, this is
the sensation of the round, but doesn´t help german team to get a
point.
Big disappointment for the team of Vassily Ivanchuk. TPS Saransk loses
against Gros Xake Taldea (ESP) 2,5:3,5. Ivanchuk draws with Loek van
Wely. Four teams lead with six points now in table: Tomsk-400, Gos Xake
Talde, Ladya Kazan (RUS) with Radjabo and Kasimdhhanov and Clichy (FRA)
with Nisipeanu, Naidischt and Pelletier.
